Moving home can be exciting, yet often causes anxiety. A good idea is to start the packing process as early as possible and gradually assemble items to make moving less stressful.
What you’ll need
There are several supplies that will come in handy as you move ahead with the packing process. Naturally, boxes in a variety of sizes, as well as packing tape to seal the boxes, will be very useful. Having a strong pair of scissors to hand will help with cutting any items or boxes. For non-fragile items, plastic bags will suffice, although blankets and towels will be more necessary to protect larger fragile items, as well as bubble wrap for protection.
Packing tips
It’s important to reserve lots of time to pack and do a bit at a time to prevent feeling overwhelmed by how many things need packing.
Pack each room separately and mark on each box the room where it needs to go in the new home. Avoid packing too many things in a box which makes it very heavy and difficult to lift. Dismantle furniture is possible to make them easier to carry. Furthermore, if a box contains breakable items use bubble wrap for protection and label it “fragile” so that the movers will take extra care. Leave clothes on hangers and put them in suitcases or large boxes. Pack medicines separately in labelled boxes.
