Plans unveiled for Liverpool’s tallest building

Plans for a 70-storey skyscraper at Liverpool’s waterfront have been revealed. If built, the tower will become the city’s tallest building. The plans include a five-star hotel and luxury apartments.

The first 23 floors will host a 212-room hotel, with 543 apartments above the hotel. The tower will also feature bars, gyms, restaurants and a rooftop terrace.

This tower is the centrepiece of a group of ten buildings forming the £1bn Kings project. All plans for these buildings will undergo public consultation before being submitted for planning permission, probably in late summer 2026.

The chairman of developers Beetham Davos, Hugh Frost, stated that the tower will be a signature building that demonstrates the developer’s commitment and confidence in the project. He added that demand for the hotel will be driven by cruise passengers wanting to spend time at the start or end of their cruise in the same luxury style they experience on ships.

Ian Simpson, the project’s designer, commented:

“This is a landmark intervention for Britain’s most dramatic waterfront skyline.”

The development of Liverpool’s waterfront demonstrates the city’s commitment to growth and its ability to attract businesses and the people who work in them to relocate to the city.
