Birkenhead named most popular UK moving destination

A report by self-storage software provider Stora, based on data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), has named Birkenhead as the favourite place in the UK to move to.

Researchers analysed which areas of the UK have had a surge in the number of people moving there. It identified postcodes that have cheaper house prices that attract more home buyers, especially those buying their first home.

Birkenhead’s top spot in the list is probably due to the growing trend of homebuyers wanting value for money homes with good transport links to Liverpool and the surrounding area. The average house price in this location is £210,338, significantly lower than the UK national average of £272,000.

The town is currently undergoing a massive multi-billion-pound regeneration project. Initiatives like “Wirral Waters” are transforming the docklands into sustainable living and office spaces, indicating a bright economic future for the area.

Birkenhead is also popular for its easy access to the scenic Wirral coastline and historic parks.

There has been a 27% increase in the population of Birkenhead as homebuyers look for more affordable housing in a growing area with lots of facilities.

Wigan is second in the list of most popular places to move to, followed by Northampton, Mansfield, Dudley, Warrington, Southend-on-Sea, Newport, Bexley and Milton Keynes.
