An AI language model warned them that Panama has a mosquito-borne dengue fever issue – information that could deter people from moving there. In reality, the risk from dengue fever is extremely low.
Poor AI advice is also given to people intending to move to the UK. AI told one person that UK citizenship can be gained after living here for twelve months. The real process involves staying at least five years to get permanent residency status, then waiting another year to be eligible for citizenship.
Whilst AI is useful for providing information to help make decisions, it cannot provide the emotional aspect of decision-making, the self-reflection required, and the very personal aspirations about a future life.
