Homebuilder scheme aims to make moving home less stressful

Yorkshire homebuilder Bellway held a part-exchange weekend that started on September 26, 2026. The event was designed to help decrease the stress of moving.

Buyers could reserve a new home and receive a part-exchange offer from Bellway for their existing home at the same time.

Bellway Yorkshire’s Sales Director, Melanie Smith, said that the process of buying and selling a home causes significant stress when moving:

“The aim of the part-exchange weekend is to completely cut out the stress and make moving home as simple as taking a trip to the shops.”

Arranging a part-exchange deal means that there is no property chain that can cause the buying and selling process to fail. Mortgage advisers and valuers were available at the event for expert advice.

New homes available under the Bellway part-exchange deal are in the Yorkshire locations of Beverley, Boroughbridge, Harworth, Brigg, Brough, Kirk Ella, Hoyland and Snaith. Homes in the deal cost between £259,995 and £489,995.

Many homebuilders in other parts of the UK offer similar part-exchange schemes. However, these schemes have conditions. Most schemes require a current home’s value to be no more than 70% to 80% of the new build’s price. Buyers can usually stay in the current home while their new home is being built.
