The Lloyds Coastal Homes Review tracks house price movements in 197 coastal locations. Though housing costs have risen by almost a fifth since 2019, there are still seaside towns with more affordable homes.
The most expensive area on the seaside in Britain is Sandbanks in the county of Dorset, where the average house price is £965,708. The cheapest seaside location in the UK is Campbeltown in Argyll and Bute in Scotland, with homes costing on average £103,078.
The Lloyds research is based on the Registers of Scotland of the Land Registry’s data. Lloyds Head of Mortgages, Amanda Bryden, said:
“Coastal living continues to hold a special appeal — whether it’s the lure of sea views, sandy beaches, or a slower pace of life.”
Fleetwood is a Victorian town on the Lancashire Fylde Coast within easy reach by car or public transport to Liverpool and Manchester. It is a fishing port known for its scenic promenade, the seven-acre Mount Park and the Freeport discount shopping centre.
The property website Zoopla shows the average asking price for Fleetwood properties in June 2025 is £110,000 for terraced, £180,000 for semi-detached and £265,000 for detached. Flats are available for around £80,000.
