Homebuilders Barratt and David Wilson have issued guidance on how to make moving home less stressful.
Paul Hogan of Barratt and David Wilson Homes said:
“With many people looking to take their next step along the property ladder this time of year, we at Barratt and David Wilson Homes are here to help make that move easier and more achievable.”
The first tip is to prepare early, at least four to six weeks before moving day. Start with compiling an extensive checklist of every task that needs completing. Make hiring a removal service a priority.
Declutter by getting rid of possessions you no longer use or need. Sell, give away or take items in good condition to a charity shop.
Organise important documents such as passports, driving licences, contracts and letters. Place them in clearly marked folders. It’s also a good idea to make digital copies.
Inform all relevant contacts of your change of address. This includes friends, any important local authorities, utility companies, banks, schools and others.
Pack items into clearly labelled boxes that show what is in them and the room they belong to.
Shortly before moving, pack an essentials bag containing chargers, toiletries, snacks, drinks and any other items you need quick access to during the move and when you first arrive at the new home.
At Merseyside Movers & Storers, we understand how moving home can be very stressful. We are a family-run Liverpool removal company with a friendly team who’ll help your move go as smoothly as possible.
