Liverpool among top ten places to buy and sell property

Research by property website SellHouseFast has revealed the ten best locations in which to buy or sell property, with Liverpool ranking seventh.

Several factors were considered when compiling the list, including long-term growth, quality of life and affordability. Researchers examined crime rates, access to green spaces, employment prospects, broadband speeds and other factors affecting quality of life.

SellHouseFast analysed the property markets in major towns and cities in England before compiling its top ten list. Blackburn with Darwen has the strongest housing market, followed by Warrington in second place, then Salford and Sunderland in joint third. Stoke-on-Trent ranks fifth, followed by Bolton, Liverpool, Newcastle upon Tyne and Bradford, with Blackpool rounding out the top ten.

Nine of the top ten locations are in the North, with Stoke-on-Trent the only one farther south.

John Malnick of SellHouseFast said that low house prices are a major factor attracting buyers to an area. Malnick said:

“What is particularly interesting here is that affordability isn’t necessarily coming at the expense of growth. Several of the northern locations that rank highly have also seen substantial house price increases over the past five or 10 years.”

In Liverpool, house prices have grown by 69.6% over the past ten years, but this has not deterred buyers.
