Internet service provider TalkTalk has launched its “HomeMove Squad” service, a dedicated team of experts who simplify the process of setting up TalkTalk broadband when moving home.
A survey conducted in July 2025 by Axicon for TalkTalk found that two-thirds of respondents stated that not having a Wi-Fi connection as soon as they move into a new home is the most stressful aspect of moving home. The average time it takes for Wi-Fi to be active in a new home is six days, with 26% waiting over a week to be connected to the internet.
The Chief Operating Officer at TalkTalk, Neil Smith, said:
“Moving home is one of the most stressful things we do. It should be about new beginnings, not digital disruption, especially as eight in ten people say Wi-Fi makes a house a home.”
TalkTalk customers can contact the HomeMove Squad when they have a moving date, and experts will handle the process of transferring their broadband service to the new home from start to finish, making sure that it is working at the new home as soon as possible.
If households have to wait a few days before the Internet connection is active, temporary access to the Internet can usually be obtained via mobile phone broadband services or a Starlink satellite link.
