Flexible office space provider Office Space in Town (OSIT) reveals that during the hot summer of 2025, there was a surge in people leaving their home office to work in air-conditioned offices.
In July 2025, OSIT saw a 42% increase in office use across its five London locations compared to the previous four-week period. Jamie Stuart, a general manager at Office Space in Town, said that rising temperatures were the reason for this shift to office workers as staff sought relief from overly hot home environments in air-conditioned offices. Office working further increased during the August heat wave.
If summer temperatures continue to rise, the demand for comfortable air-conditioned offices will grow. Companies that have older offices that are difficult to keep cool could look to relocate to more modern office spaces with better facilities. Jamie Stuart says:
“The recent heatwaves have shown us employees are seeking relief from overheated home environments in favour of fully air-conditioned offices that offer comfort, community, and convenience.”
Another reason for increased office occupation in August is a change in employee holiday choices, with many taking shorter summer holidays in the UK rather than longer overseas holidays.
Liverpool has many air-conditioned office spaces available for rent, including developments in Dale Street L2 and Old Hall Street L3 that offer small to large workspaces.
