What you need to know about moving to Liverpool student accommodation

Every year, over 20,000 students start university courses in Liverpool. Though some commute to university, many move to student accommodation.

If you are one of them, you should know a few things about what you will need. This guide is for standard student accommodation or halls of residence, where every student has a private bedroom but shares a kitchen and lounge area.

You may have to bring ID documents and other paperwork requested by your accommodation provider before moving in.

Beds and mattresses will be provided, but you must bring your duvet, sheets, pillowcases and towels.

Most student accommodations have shared access to a cooker, fridge-freezer and microwave, but you will need your plates, bowls, mugs and cutlery. There should also be a shared kettle and toaster, but you might want a kettle in your bedroom.

If you need things for your bedroom such as a desk lamp or a bookcase, you can either bring them or buy them from one of the many Liverpool discount shops. Charity shops are a good source of home items.

It is highly unlikely that pets would be allowed in your student accommodation. Candles are typically not permitted as they are a fire hazard.

If you don’t have access to a car to move your belongings, or you have too many items, ask Merseyside Movers & Storers to help. We are a leading Liverpool removal company with a friendly moving team experienced in small and large removal jobs.
